Dozens of activists held a Valentine's Day demonstration at city hall on Feb. 13 as part of a broader divestment day campaign.
350PDX has approached city officials asking why they purchased $20 million is Exxon-Mobil bonds in 2014 despite a resolution by the city council directing formation of a committee to direct Portland's municipal investments into Sustainable, Responsible and Impact investments. Demonstrators held up Valentine's Day cards to the mayor. Their ranks were bolstered by a group of Portland State University students who are asking their foundation to divest of fossil fuels.
